Murder in Amsterdam : The death of Theo van Gogh and the limits of tolerance

Ian Burunda - 2006

This book is a report on a collision of two cultures. In 2004, Mohammed Bouyeri, the son of Moroccan immigrants, shot and killed controversial Dutch filmmaker Theo van Gogh, a great-grandnephew of Vincent. Van Gogh had directed a movie with Dutch politician Ayaan Hirsi Ali that insulted the prophet Mohammed. The murder shocked Holland and other countries and made many question the policy of political tolerance.
