Beth Fertig, 2009 Although a story about public education might not seem compelling, this one certainly is. Fertig profiles three learning disabled teens, who won court challenges from the New York City School system because the system had failed them. In telling their stories, she also tells the story of Mayor Michael Bloomberg, his takeover of the school system and his attempt, through Chancellor Klein, to radically change it.
